ACIDOM Medical Services, LLC is a Behavioral Health Center partnered with Department of Health and Hospital and the Bayou Health Plans of Louisiana to provide outpatient community-based mental health services to children, youth and adults.

​Some people with ADHD primarily have symptoms of inattention, while others have primarily symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity. Some people have symptoms in both categories. 

​

  1. Children with ADHD- Problems sustaining focus, and disorganized; these problems are not due to defiant or lack of comprehension. Problems with excessively moving when not appropriate, and/or excessively fidgets, taps, or talks. Impulsive hasty actions without thinking first; or a desire for immediate regards or inability to delay gratification. 

  2. Adults with ADHD- Problems with concentration and staying organized can be common for very busy adults.

Generalized anxiety disorder can occur at any age.

The condition has symptoms similar to panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other types of anxiety. These symptoms include constant worry, restlessness, and trouble with concentration.

Treatment may include counseling and medications, such as antidepressants.​

Young Designer

A mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life.

Possible causes include a combination of biological, psychological, and social sources of distress. Increasingly, research suggests these factors may cause changes in brain function, including altered activity of certain neural circuits in the brain.

Depression

​Some people with ADHD primarily have symptoms of inattention, while others have primarily symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity. Some people have symptoms in both categories.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

You can get PTSD after living through or seeing a dangerous event, such as a war, a hurricane, or a bad accident. PTSD makes you feel stressed and afraid after the danger is over. It affects your life and the people around you.

Children and Teens- is a serious brain illness. It is also called manic-depressive illness. Children with bipolar disorder go through unusual mood changes. Sometimes they feel very happy or “up” and are much mire active than usual. This is called mania. And sometimes children with bipolar feel very sad and “down” and are much less active than usual. This is called depression. However, most people with bipolar disorder develop it in their late teen or early adult years.​

The cause of borderline personality disorder isn't well understood. Diagnosis is made based on symptoms.

Separation Anxiety Disorder

A disorder in which a child becomes excessively anxious when separated from parents.

Children are especially prone to separation anxiety during times of stress.

​

Separation anxiety differs from normal clinginess. Children with the disorder can't think about anything but the present fear of separation. They may have nightmares or regular physical complaints. They may be reluctant to go to school or other places.

Treatment includes talk therapy and possibly anti-anxiety medication.

Thought disorders alter the way a person puts together ordered sequences of ideas and can affect a person's behavior by causing them to experience paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, or other symptoms.
